Brett Favre had not played well in his career at the MetroDome, but you would never would have believed that after he torched the Vikings secondary all day long!  Brett Favre completed 24 of 42 passes for 317 yards with 2 TDs.  Ahman Green had a rough time with the Vikings defense with 22 carries for 55 yards (2.5 ypc).  Donald Driver had one of the best games of his career with 7 receptions for 173 yards and a TD!  Ruvell Martin pitched in with 3 catches for 47 yards.  Noah Herron caught 2 passes for 11 yards, including a big TD grab.  FB William Henderson caught 6 passes for 26 yards out of the backfield.

The Packers defense made plays when they had to today.  Rookie LB A.J. Hawk was all over the place and had 9 tackles and 1.5 sacks.  Reserve CB Patrick Dendy had a good game with 5 tackles and an interception.  The Packers held the Vikings to 90 yards rushing on 23 carries (3.9 ypc).  The Vikings completed 18 of 30 passes for 222 net yards passing.

This was a huge win for the Packers that actually has them thinking playoffs.  That thought would have seemed ridiculous last month, but not so now.

as the score DOESNT indicate, this was NO toss-up. About the only thing that made me worry the entire game was Dendy trying to cover Bethel Johnson, or should i say his lack of coverage that helped set up two tds. Not to take away from his pick, but it wasnt because of his superior coverage skills. Excellent play regardless. And a good thing for him or he may have seen the dime instead of nickel next week. Blackmon has got the speed to keep up with the speed recievers thrown at us, id like to think next time they will try him. On another note, if youre going to give out stats, try to be a bit more accurate. Driver had 191 yards recieving on 6 catches, Hawk had 12.5 total tackles. Get it right for the people who take your writing seriously

I can’t wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to write about the game. The boxscore had those as stats when I wrote the story on Sunday. Hawk was credited with 3 extra tackles on Monday and Driver & Favre numbers were adjusted for the pitch he got during the game.

    You guys are very critical…..wow.
