The Green Bay Packers are on the clock…………

Blogged under Bloglockers, The Draft Report, Front Page, General by dawgpounded on Sunday 15 April 2007 at 2:09 pm

I have conducted a complete 7 round draft for every team in the NFL.  If you want to see what I have projected for any other team in the NFL, click on the team name in the right hand margin and go to the team’s Draft Report page if you don’t see the article on the front page of the site.  This was a lot of work so I hope you enjoy it.

Last year the Packers were thinking defense at this time of the year.  But this season it will be offense and special teams that will rule the day.  Here’s who I project the Packers to select on Draft Day:

1. (16)  Marshawn Lynch, RB, California

2. (47)  Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State

3. (78)  Mason Crosby, K, Colorado

4. (112)  Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware

5. (157)  Dan Sepulveda, P, Baylor

6. (193)  Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Washington State

7. (228)  Mkristo Bruce, DE, Washingto State

7. (235)  Anthony Arline, CB, Baylor

7. (243)  Mate Ilaoa, RB, Hawaii

This would be a perfect draft for the Packers.  Lynch, Gonzalez and Patrick would give Brett Favre three nice weapons to add to his arsenal on offense.  Crosby and Sepulveda would give the Packers the best two kickers in this draft which also would help them win football games as the Packers were very disappointed in their special teams last season.

The Green Bay Packers re-sign WR Carlyle Holiday

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General by dawgpounded on Thursday 5 April 2007 at 1:10 pm

The Packers have re-signed Carlyle Holiday to a 1-year contract.  He played in 8 games (2 starts) for the Packers and he caught 9 passes for 126 yards (14.0 avg).  The Packers like his potential as a future #3 or #4 WR in their offense.

The Green Bay Packers re-sign DT Colin Cole

Colin Cole played pretty well as a reserve tackle for the Packers last season.  He played in 15 games last season and he made 37 tackles, had a sack and forced a fumble.  This was a good signing by the Packers as they keep rewarding players from last years vastly improved football team.
