Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

If the Packers win this football game they will clinch the NFC North with 5 weeks to go.  The Lions need to win this game if they want to make the playoffs as they have played very poorly the last two weeks.

Look for the Packers to start throwing the ball when they get off of the bus.  The Packers have only allowed 14 sacks this season so Favre should have time to throw the ball.  That could mean big trouble for the Lions who are allowing 257.9 yards passing per game.  Look for Favre (2,985 yards passing, 19 TDs and 8 INTs) to shred the Lions defense in this game.

The Lions would smart to run a more balanced offense to try to control the clock in this game.  But, Mike Martz won’t likely have any of that as he prefers the Lions to air it out.  The Lions offensive line better be able to block DEs Aaron Kampman (9 sacks) and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (8.5 sacks) or Jon Kitna will make mistakes with the football that will turn this game in the Packers favor.

PREDICTION:  PACKERS 31, LIONS 21

What a great game yesterday, just a perfect way to start thanksgiving. Favre was at his best, we didn’t even need a running game. I was a little worried the first quarter (specially since I had some money on them -3) but it all just went smooth the rest of the game.
Next stop: DALLAS BABY! I’m a bit worried because Dallas is huge right now and we are playing in dallas. You guys think we can pull it off? NFL odds are all for the Cowboys but I think we can hang in there.

The Packers have been stopping premier running backs all season long. The big concern with me is jason witten 6′5″ vs atari bigby 5′11″ huge mismatch so I hope packers are smart and put brady poppinga 6′3″ or Desmond bishop 6′2″ on him all game long. My other concern is T.O.—bump and run is fine but we need safty help and safties that are taller than 5′11″.The only safty we have that is over 6′2″ is aaron Rouse who happens to be injured (he’s had 2 interceptions and numerous break ups) I am a hard core packers fan and I would like to see them recruit safty’s taller than 6′ for situations when double coverage is nessesary. Not every short safty is or can be as talented as LeRoy Butler was.
