The Packers made the right move in trading Brett Favre to the Jets and starting Aaron Rodgers.  Rodgers played hurt most of the season and still put up sterling numbers in 2008.  Rodgers played in 16 games (all starts) for the Packers in 2008 and he completed 341 of 536 passes (63.6%) for 4,038 yards with 28 TD passes and 13 interceptions (93.8 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 56 times for 207 yards (3.7 ypc) with 4 TD runs in 2008.  Rodgers has now played in 23 games (16 starts) in his NFL career and he has completed 376 of 595 passes (63.2%) for 4,367 yards with 29 TD passes and 14 interceptions (91.8 QB Rating).  He also has carried the football 67 times for 254 yards (3.8 ypc) with 4 TD runs.

The Packers better hope that Rodgers stays healthy as they don’t have much confidence in his back ups.  Matt Flynn played in 7 games (0 starts) last season and he completed 2 of 5 passes (40%) for 6 yards with 0 TD passes and 0 interceptions (47.9 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 4 times for 4 yards (1.0 ypc).  Fellow rookie Brian Brohm didn’t get on the field in 2008 after he was very disappointing in the pre-season.
