The Green Bay Packers held off a very pesky Vikings’ squad yesterday in Minnesota.  Aaron Rodgers was razor sharp as usual as he completed 24 of 30 passes for 335 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  James Starks also had a solid game with 75 yards rushing on 13 carries (5.8 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 24 yards (8.0 avg).  Ryan Grant pitched in with 29 yards rushing on 9 carries (3.2 ypc).  WR Greg Jennings led the way in the passing game yesterday with 7 grabs for 147 yards (21.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  WR James Jones (4 rec, 63 yards), WR Jordy Nelson (4 rec, 52 yards), TE Jermichael Finley (2 rec, 13 yards, TD) and FB John Kuhn (1 rec, 2 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Packers in the passing game yesterday.  The Packers finished up with 114 yards rushing on 26 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 30 passes (80%) for 307 yards as they had possession of the ball for 32:06.

The defense had big time issues with the Vikings’ offense yesterday.  LB Desmond Bishop (8 tackles), safety Charlie Peprah (7 tackles) and OLB Clay Matthews (6 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 1 pass defensed and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Packers’ D in this game.  CB Charles Woodson was also outstanding with 4 tackles, 3 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  The Vikings finished up with 218 yards rushing on 31 carries (7.0 ypc) and they also completed 13 of 32 passes (40.6%) for 217 yards.  The Packers are now 7-0 on the season.

The Packers were up 24-3 at the half  yesterday before  essentially calling off the dogs and running the rest of the clock out.  Aaron Rodgers was sharp as usual as he completed 17 of 28 passes for 310 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 7 times for 15 yards (2.1 ypc) in this game.  James Starks led the way on the ground for the Packers in this game with 49 yards rushing on 13 carries (3.8 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 17 yards (8.5 avg).  Ryan Grant pitched in with 25 yards rushing on 9 carries (2.8 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 27 yards (13.5).  WRs Jordy Nelson (2 rec, 104 yards with a TD (93 yards)) and Greg Jennings (6 rec, 82 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Packers today.  WRs James Jones (1 rec, 35 yards, TD) and Donald Driver (3 rec, 25 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Packers in the passing game.  The Packers finished up with 96 yards rushing on 32 carries (3.0 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 28 passes (60.7%) for 303 yards as they had possession of the ball for 29:19.

The defense gave up a lot of yards yesterday, but only 3 points.  LB Desmond Bishop led the way for the Packers in this game with 14 tackles.  LB A.J. Hawk (9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit), safety Morgan Burnett (9 tackles) and safety Charlie Peprah (9 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss) also had solid games for the Packers yesterday.  CB Sam Shields pitched in with 5 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception.  The Rams finished up with 125 yards rushing on 25 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 44 passes (63.6%) for 299 yards.  The Packers are now 6-0 on the year.

Green Bay Packers 25, Atlanta Falcons 14

The Packers were down 14-6 at the half.  They then made adjustments on both sides of the ball and dominated the second half to surge to a very nice road win last night.  Aaron Rodgers completed 26 of 39 passes for 396 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He spread the ball around to 12 different receivers last night!  James Starks led the way on the ground in this game with 40 yards rushing on 12 carries (3.3 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 19 yards (9.5 avg).  Ryan Grant only rushed for 18 yards on 7 carries (2.6 ypc) and he caught 1 pass for six years.  Grant also lost a fumble.  The Packers got WR James Jones out of mothballs and he caught 5 passes for 140 yards (28.0 avg) with 1 TD grab in this game.  WR Greg Jennings (4 rec, 82 yards, TD) and TE Jermichael Finley (4 rec, 67 yards) also pitched in for the Packers in the passing game yesterday.  The Packers finished up with 57 yards rushing on 20 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 39 passes (66.7%) for 369 yards as they had possession of the ball for 33:11.

The defense was excellent for the Packers last night.  Safety Charlie Peprah (8 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and LB Desmond Bishop (7 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Packers’ D in this game.  CB Jarrett Bush intercepted a pass that he returned 35 yards.  The Falcons finished up with 95 yards rushing on 22 carries (4.3 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 32 passes 56.3%) for 156 yards.  The Packers are now 5-0 so far this year.

The Packers totally dominated the Broncos today at Lambeau Field.  Aaron Rodgers was razor sharp in this game as he completed 29 for 38 passes for 408 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 9 times for 36 yards with 2 TD runs!  James Starks led the way on the ground for the Packers in this game with 63 yards rushing on 13 carries (4.8 ypc) .  He also caught 5 passes for 38 yards (7.6 avg) in this game.  WRs Greg Jennings (7 rec, 103 yards, TD) and Jordy Nelson (5 rec, 91 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Packers.  WRs Randall Cobb (2 rec, 75 yards), James Jones (3 rec, 48 yards, TD) and Donald Driver (3 rec, 20 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Packers in the passing game.  The Packers finished up with 111 yards rushing on 28 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 29 of 39 passes (74.4%) for 396 yards in this game.

The defense was solid as they made a lot of big plays.  LB Desmond Bishop led the way for the Packers in this game with 10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit.  Safety Morgan Burnett (6 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery) and LB A.J. Hawk (6 tackles) also had solid games today.  CB Sam Shields (interception with 60-yard return), CB Charles Woodson (interception that he returned 30 yards for a TD) and safety Charlie Peprah (interception) also made huge plays for the Pack in this game.  The Broncos finished up with 119 yards rushing on 23 carries (5.2 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 32 passes (68.8%) for 265 yards.  The Packers are now 4-0 on the year.

The Packers took the fight to the Bears once again yesterday at Soldier Field.  Aaron Rodgers was sharp as usual as he completed 28 of 38 passes for 297 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 INT.  Ryan Grant led the way on the ground for the Packers in this game with 17 carries for 92 yards (5.4 ypc).  James Starks only rushed for 5 yards on 11 carries (0.5 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 9 yards (3.0 avg).  Starks also lost a fumble in this game.  WR Greg Jennings (9 rec, 119 yards) and TE Jermichael Finley (7 rec, 85 yards and 3 TD grabs) led the way for the Packers in the passing game yesterday.  WRs Jordy Nelson (3 rec, 40 yards) and James Jones (4 rec, 24 yards) also pitched in for the Packers.  The Packers rushed for 100 yards on 29 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 38 passes (73.7%) for 292 yards as they had possession of the ball for 37:29.

The Packers’ D played solid all-around football yesterday.  LB Desmond Bishop (5 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss) and safety Morgan Burnett (5 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 2 interceptions) led the way for the Packers on D in this game.  OLB Clay Matthews pitched in with 3 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss and 1 QB hit also had a solid game for the Packers.  The Bears finished up with 13 yards rushing on 12 carries (1.1 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 37 passes (56.8%) for 278 yards in this game.  The Packers are now 3-0 on the year.

The Green Bay Packers had a much tougher game than they thought they were going to have against the Panthers in Carolina yesterday.  Aaron Rodgers was sharp as usual as he completed 19 of 30 passes for 308 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 5 times for 13 yards (2.6 ypc) in this game.  James Starks led the way on the ground for the Packers yesterday with 85 yards on 9 carries (9.4 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 30 yards (10.0 avg).  Ryan Grant pitched in with 25 yards rushing on 6 carries (4.2 ypc) and 3 grabs for 14 yards (4.7 avg) in this game.  John Kuhn only carried the ball 1 time but he made it count as he scored on a TD on a 1-yard run.  WRs Jordy Nelson (1 rec, 84 yards, TD), TE Jermichael Finley (5 rec, 68 yards) and Greg Jennings (2 rec, 55 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Packers in this game.  The Packers finished up with 124 yards rushing on 21 carries (5.9 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 30 passes (63.3%) for 295 yards as they had possession of the ball for 27:26.

The defense was solid against the running game but not so good against the pass yesterday.  LB Desmond Bishop led the way for the Packers’ D yesterday with 10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit.  Safety Morgan Burnett (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack, 2 passes defensed and 1 QB hit) and CB Jarrett Bush (7 tackles and 1 pass defensed) also pitched in with solid games for the Packers.  CB Charles Woodson was incredible yesterday for the Packers as he had 5 tackles, 2 passes defensed, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery!  The Panthers finished up with 71 yards rushing on 21 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 46 passes for 404 yards.  The Packers are now 2-0 on the year.

Green Bay Packers 42, New Orleans Saints 34

The Green Bay Packers won a track meet with the Saints last night at Lambeau Field.  Aaron Rodgers was razor sharp in this game as he completed 27 of 35 passes for 312 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He spread the ball around and was using everyone in the passing game, which made him virtually impossible to stop.  WRs Greg Jennings (7 rec, 89 yards, TD) and Jordy Nelson (6 rec, 77 yards, 1 TD) led the way in the passing game for the Packers in this game.  WR Donald Driver (4 rec, 41 yards) and TE Jermichael Finley (3 rec, 53 yards) did most of their work in the first half last night.  Rookie WR Randall Cobb had a huge impact on this game for the Packers as he caught 2 passes for 35 yards (17.5 avg) with 1 TD grab.  He also returned 2 kickoffs for 135 yards (67.5 avg) including one that he returned an amazing 108 yards for a TD!  James Starks led the way on the ground for the Packers in this game with 57 yards rushing on 12 carries (4.8 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Ryan Grant looked good in his first game action since last season’s opener as he carried the ball 9 times for 40 yards (4.4 ypc).  Fullback John Kuhn pitched in with 2 carries for 5 yards (2.5 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 2 passes for 7 yards (3.5 avg).  The Packers finished up this game for 103 yards on 27 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 35 passes (77.1%) for 296 yards as they had possession of the ball for 32:54.

The defense was solid against the run but Drew Brees lit up the Packers’ D last night.  Safety Morgan Burnett (14 tackles) and LB Desmond Bishop (12 tackles) led the way for the Packers’ D in this game.  CB Sam Shields (7 tackles, 2 passes defensed), S Nick Collins (7 tackles) and CB Tramon Williams (3 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery) also pitched in for the Packers’ D in this contest.  The Saints finished up with 81 yards rushing on 21 carries (3.9 ypc) and they also completed 32 of 49 passes (65.3%) for 396 yards.  The Packers also had issues in stopping Darren Sproles on returns last night.  He returned a punt 72 yards for a TD in this game.  The Packers are now 1-0 on the season.

Super Bowl XLV: Green Bay Packers 31, Pittsburgh Steelers 25

The Packers’ offense shredded the Steelers’ secondary tonight and the defense made just enough big plays to help the Packers win the Super Bowl and bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay where it rightfully belongs!  Aaron Rodgers was the MVP of the Super Bowl as he was magnificent in this game!  Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs against the supposedly tough Steelers’ D!  James Starks pitched in with 52 yards rushing on 11 carries (4.7 ypc) as he had some nice runs in this game.  Jordy Nelson might have dropped some passes but he still made a lot of big plays as he caught 9 passes for 140 yards (15.6 avg) with a TD grab.  Greg Jennings also had a HUGE game with 4 catches for 64 yards (16.0 avg) with 2 TD grabs in this game.  James Jones pitched in with 5 grabs for 50 yards (10.0 avg).  The Packers only had possession of the ball for 26:35 in this game but they still rushed for 50 yards on 13 carries (3.8 ypc) and they completed 24 of 39 passes for 288 yards.

The defense gave up a lot of yards but they also had some game altering plays.  Safety Nick Collins only had 4 tackles and 1 pass defensed but he also got a pick six when he returned a Roethlisberger pickoff 37 yards for a TD!  Back up cornerback Jarrett Bush also had a big game with 5 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception.  Safety Charlie Peprah (10 tackles), LB Desmond Bishop (8 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss and 1 fumble recovery) and LB Frank Zombo (5 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit) also had solid games for the Packers in this game.  The Steelers finished up with 126 yards rushing on 23 carries (5.5 ypc) and they also completed 25 of 40 passes for 261 yards.  The Packers are now the WORLD CHAMPIONS for the 13th time in franshise history.  This was their 4th Super Bowl win.

The Packers played a solid all around game to beat the Bears yesterday in the NFC Championship Game.  Aaron Rodgers completed 17 of 30 passes for 244 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 INTs.  His best play might have been a tackle when he stopped Brian Urlacher with only the goal line between the men.  Rodgers also carried the ball 7 times for 39 yards (5.6 ypc) with 1 TD run yesterday.  Rookie RB James Starks had another workmanlike day with 74 yards rushing on 22 carries (3.4 ypc) with a TD run.  WRs Greg Jennings (8 rec, 130 yards) and Jordy Nelson (4 rec, 67 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Packers yesterday.  The Packers finished up with 120 yards rushing on 32 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 30 passes for 236 yards as they had possession of the ball for 34:04.

The defense made huge plays in this game at critical times.  NT B.J. Raji picked off a Caleb Hanie pass in the 4th quarter and he returned it 18 yards for a TD!  Rookie CB Sam Shields finished up with 4 tackles, 1 sack, 2 passes defensed and 2 interceptions (0ne sealed the win late in the 4th quarter also off Caleb Hanie).  LB Desmond Bishop (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and safety Nick Collins (7 tackles) also had solid games for the Packers yesterday.  The Bears finished up with 83 yards rushing on 24 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 38 passes for 218 yards in this game.

The Packers have won the NFC and they will travel to Dallas in two weeks to play in the SUPER BOWL against the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Green Bay Packers 48, Atlanta Hawks 21

The only real blip on the screen for the Packers yesterday was when Eric Weems returned a kickoff 102 yards for a TD to give the Falcons a very short lived 14-7 lead in the second quarter.  It was all Packers from that point on as Aaron Rodgers had a playoff game for the ages.  Rodgers completed 31 of 36 passes for 366 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 13 yards (6.5 ypc) with a TD run.  James Starks had to fight for every yard he got last night as he led the way on the ground for the Packers with 66 yards rushing on 25 carries (2.6 ypc).  John Kuhn made some big plays in this game for the Packers as he carried the ball 2 times for 5 yards (2.5 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 2 passes for 14 yards (7.0 avg) with a TD reception.  WRs Greg Jennings (8 rec, 101 yards), Jordy Nelson (8 rec, 79 yards, TD), Donald Driver (6 rec, 76 yards) and James Jones (4 rec, 75 yards, TD) all had big games for the Packers in the passing game last night.  The Packers finished up with 96 yards rushing on 31 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 31 of 36 passes for 346 yards as they had possession of the football for 38:19.

The defense was electric for the Packers last night as they sacked Matt Ryan 5 times while harassing him all night long!  CB Charles Woodson (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit) and LB Desmond Bishop (6 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) led the way for the Packers’ D last night.  OLB Clay Matthews was a force, as usual, with 4 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 2 QB hits.  CB Tramon Williams put one of the final nails in the Hawks’ coffin when he picked off a Matt Ryan pass which he returned 70 yards for a TD on the final play of the first half.  He finished with 1 tackle, 2 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  The Falcons finished up with 45 yards rushing on 14 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 29 passes for 141 yards.

The Packers will move on to the NFC Championship to play either the Chicago Bears or the Seattle Seahawks on the road next weekend.
