The Green Bay Packers totally dominated the Seattle Seahawks last Saturday Night! The Packers cruised out to a 38-10 lead in the first half and cruised to a very, very easy victory over Mike Holmgren’s football team. Brett Favre was very efficient as he completed 7 of 12 passes for 74 yards and a TD. Aaron Rodgers continued his fine pre-season by completing 10 of 16 passes for 97 yards with 2 TDs. Undrafted rookie Paul Thompson finished up the game and he didn’t look good as he completed 5 of 10 passes for 49 yards with 2 interceptions. Rookie running back continued to look pretty good on Saturday with 13 carries for 54 yards (4.2 ypc) with 1 TD run. Corey White finished up the game with 13 carries for only 25 yards (1.9 ypc). Rookie James Jones was outstanding again as he seems to have wrapped up the #3 WR job on the Packers. He caught 4 passes for 58 yards (14.5 avg) with 2 TD grabs. Bubba Franks added 4 catches for 30 yards (7.5 avg). The Packers finished up with 79 yards rushing on 27 carries (2.9 ypc) and they completed 22 of 38 passes for 197 yards.

The Packers defense was really awesome Saturday Night. True, Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbecl weren’t on the field but that doesn’t take away from how good the defense played. The Seahawks wound up rushing for 127 yards on 34 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 32 passes for 112 yards. The Packers had a lot of big plays in the game on defense as they returned two Seneca Wallace fumbles for TDs. Linebacker Nick Barnett had a 62 yard return and linebacker Tracy White had a 34 yard return. Cornerback Jarrett Bush also had an outstanding game with 2 interceptions that he returned for 41 yards.

Green Bay Packers 13, Pittsburgh Steelers 9

The Green Bay Packers played great defense last night and Aaron Rodgers and a couple of the Packers rookies shined on offense. Brett Favre just made a brief appearance last night and he didn’t look too good completing only 2 of 7 passes for 7 yards. Aaron Rodgers replaced Favre and he was awesome. He completed 18 of 27 passes for 168 yards with 1 TD pass and he also carried the football 1 time for 20 yards. Ingle Martin finished out the game at QB and he completed 1 of 2 passes for 8 yards. Brandon Jackson was the main man in the running game last night as he carried the ball 16 times for 57 yards (3.6 ypc) against a rugged Steelers’ run defense. Undrafted rookie RB Corey White had a rough time carrying the ball 8 times for 22 yards (2.8 ypc). Noah Herron looked sharp running the ball with 20 yards on 4 carries (5.0 ypc). Rookie WR James Jones led the way for the Packers with 6 grabs for 58 yards (9.7 avg) and Ruvell Martin pitched in with 3 catches for 45 yards. Kicker Mason Crosby might be moving ahead of Dave Rayner for the kicking job after hitting a clutch 52-yard field goal last night. Overall, the Packers offense played well last night. They ran the ball 31 times for 124 yards (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 36 passes for 182 yards.

The Packers defense didn’t defend the run to well but they played tight on pass defense. The Steelers ran the ball 28 times for 132 yards (4.7 ypc) but they only completed 15 of 30 passes for 177 yards.
