The Packers have dealt 24-year old fullback Quinn Johnson to the Titans for an undisclosed draft pick.  Johnson played in 11 games (4 starts) for the Packers last year and he caught 3 passes for 26 yards (8.7 avg).  He played in 20 games (4 starts) in his two years with the Packers and he caught 5 passes for 30 yards (6.0 avg).  This isn’t much of a loss for the Packers, as they took advantage of Titans’ fullback Ahmard Hall’s suspension to make this deal.

The Packers have dealt 23-year old rookie guard Caleb Schlauderaff to the Jets for an undisclosed draft pick.  The Packers took Schlauderaff in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.  He played in all 4 preseason games for the Packers in 2011.  This is going to be no loss for the Packers because at best, Schlauderaff would have probably been on the practice squad in 2011.

The Green Bay Packers have acquired 27-year old safety Anthony Smith from the Jaguars for a conditional 7th round pick in 2011.  Smith played in 3 games for the Jaguars this season and he had 15 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception.  Smith has now played in 59 games in his NFL career and he has 158 tackles, 16 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble and 7 interceptions in his NFL career.  With all of the injuries the Packers have suffered in the defensive backfield this was a good deal for them as Smith might be able to step right in and help.

The Packers have traded long snapper J.J. Jansen to the Panthers for a undisclosed 2011 Draft Pick.  Jansen was a undrafted rookie last season who spent his entire rookie season on the Injured Reserve List.  This was a master stroke for GM Ted Thompson who essentially got something for nothing.
